Position: Structural Design Engineer I, II, or III

Job Summary: SLD is seeking motivated self-starters with a background in structural engineering to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to engage in all aspects of project work. SLD’s engineers focus on comprehensive building design at all phases of design and construction. The successful candidate will work on multiple, concurrent projects of varying scope and complexity under the direction of the project manager and can be guided through the design process with the assistance of their SLD mentor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

  • Minimum of 3 months’ experience with AutoCAD or Revit

  • Adherence to SLD’s well-structured CAD, BIM, and Office standards

  • Strong client relationship skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both graphic and written

  • EIT Certificate, with interest in pursuing licensure

 Bonus Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree

  • RISA or other structural analysis program experience

  • Hands-on construction experience

  • Previous internship experience

  • PE License

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $66,560 and up

Position Title: Project Designer

Pay Range: $85,280 - $85,800 per year

Spring Line Design Architecture + Engineering, LLP is seeking qualified candidates for two (2) “Project Designer” openings at its East Greenbush, New York location. 

The Project Designer position performs various aspects of architectural design, including conceptual studies, program requirements, design analysis, calculations, systems selection and layout for building design.  The Project Designer also prepares programming, schematics, design development and construction documents.

The Project Designer position is also responsible for the following: (1) coordinating and communicating with design team members to ensure that architectural design details are property integrated with the work of all other project disciplines; (2) preparing cost estimates; (3) performing various services associated with the bidding process, including preparing addenda and amendments; (4) performing various services associated with the construction phase, including reviewing shop drawings and preparing record drawings; (5) complying with quality control procedures and processes; (6) further developing analysis and design skills; (7) document organization and clarity and discipline drawing coordination; (8) drafting marked-up plans, partial plans, sections and details; (9) completing sections and details produced to a schematic-level of completion; (10) developing design options for resolution of system conflicts; (11) developing an accurate, three-dimensional model of assigned structures with the necessary level of detail using the required Building Information Modeling (BIM) software package – when BIM is a project requirement; and (12) participating in building system selections, building code analysis process and development of discipline specifications.

Finally, qualified candidates for the Project Designer position will be required to: work collaboratively with integrated structural and architectural teams, team members and clients, be self-directed; follow rigid and extensive office systems and protocols; communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external stakeholders; and manage deadlines for multiple projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.) degree.  In addition, qualified candidates must possess 18 months of experience as an Architectural Designer, Architect Intern or any other related occupation focused on architectural design.  Qualified applicants must possess 12 months of experience working with AutoCAD or Revit software.  Qualified applicants must also have working knowledge of business software programs (e.g., Microsoft Office Programs for word processing, email, spreadsheets, videoconferencing, etc.).
